Whānau Ora

Ngāti Whare, Ngāti Manawa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa

Moana joined the Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whare whānau in 2016 to deliver the Whānau Ora service, based between the Murupara and Minginui sites. Moana is passionate about sharing knowledge, nurturing relationships, and providing manaaki for whānau.

Ngāti Whare, Ngāti Manawa, Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Porou

Poihaere was raised on the marae where she learnt the importance of manaakitanga and atawhaitanga. Poihaere began her journey with Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whare in 2021 as a support administrator, and she also supports whānau when updating details in our database.

Raewyn Araroa

Community Connector Team Leader

Ngāti Whare, Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa

Raewyn has lived in Minginui for most of her life and works as the Team Leader for the Community Connectors at Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whare. Her role is to awhi whānau during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and provide essential support pre-Covid, during, and after.

Ngāti Whare, Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Kahunungu

Vale grew up in the Minginui and Murupara areas, attending Minginui Primary and Rangitahi College before moving away. Vale returned home in 2003 and joined the Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whare whānau as one of our Community Connectors to support our whānau.

Whitiaira Taiepa

Covid Response Chef

Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Whare, Ngāti Manawa, Tamakaimoana

Born and raised in Rotorua, Whitiaira has always loved cooking food for her whānau at home or at the Marae. A qualified chef by trade and passionate about good kai, Whitiaira works as our Covid Response Chef providing kai for our people in their time of need.

Wilhemina Eketone

Clinic Administrator

Wilhelmina has lived in Minginui for most of her life and works to support the community through her role as Outreach Clinic Administrator. One of the many important aspects of her role is to awhi whānau when they come to their clinic appointments.

Darwish Taiepa

Community Connector

Ngāti Whare, Ngāi Tūhoe

Born in Murupara and after living in Rotorua, Darwish moved to Te Whaiti and has been a part of the community since 1989. In his role as Community Connector, Darwish supports the whānau and wider whānau throughout the Te Whaiti, Minginui, and Ruataahuna areas.

Georgina’s background growing up on a large family homestead in Rotorua, living and caring for her nanny, and her work history have given her the skills and experience to support Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whare and our whānau as a Community Connector.

Darian Moses

Registered Nurse

Ngāti Whare, Tuhoe me Ngāti Awa

Darian was raised in Minginui and always had a passion for health care. Her passion stemmed from her community and living in an isolated area. In 2017 she decided to pursue a career in nursing and has been a Registered Nurse for 4 years now. Her background is mainly in Practice Nursing, she enjoys working closely with General Practitioners, communities and whānau. She is privileged to be able to bring her tohu home and give back to her community. Her role is to work with whānau and provide better access to health services.
